Common questions
A span is a single unit of work in a trace: one LLM call, one embedding request, one retrieval fetch, one tool invocation. A single user request typically produces 3-8 spans depending on your pipeline complexity.
Yes. You can change your plan at any time from the workspace settings. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
We send an alert at 80% and 100% of your quota. After that, additional spans are dropped (not charged) until the next billing cycle or until you upgrade. Dropped spans are logged so you know what you missed.
During early access, all features are available on the free Starter plan. Once we launch paid tiers, Team and Growth will include a 14-day trial with no credit card required.
By default, Spanloom captures span metadata (timing, token counts, model name, cost) but not the full prompt or completion text. You can opt in to full-body capture for debugging purposes. Content captured this way is encrypted at rest and subject to your plan's retention policy.
